Terry Moynihan 1945 - 2009

So sad to hear Terry 'Steel' Moynihan passed away last Friday. Terry was our first roadie after Mum and became our companion and protector through the early years of EBB when we were with Blackhill. When we moved to WWA in 1972 he jumped ship because he didn't like the new setup and with hindsight he was right on!

When fellow Midlander Chris 'Miffy' Smith came down to London to drive the band by car I remember Terry was a little put out and there followed many crazy nights after gigs when we would race back to town, us in our hired Zephyr 4 and Steel in his souped up Tranny. I'll always remember his look one night when he sailed past us on a motorway after having left the show a good hour after we had. They were a great team along with Dick Beaumont and Dirk Sommer amongst others.

We remained friends over the years and the last time I saw him was at my 50th party and he hadn't changed a bit, still fiercely independent and singleminded and happy.

I'll remember you like that Terry, thanks for everything.

Rest in Peace.
